Privacy Policy

Reading up on how to get across Bangkok should not cost you your privacy. I built Thailand Taxis (“we”, “us”) to gather about as little about you as a website can while still working. This page runs through what that little is, in plain terms.
What this covers
It applies to thailandtaxis.com and nothing else. It explains what may happen when you open a guide, follow a link out, or write to me. The outside sites I point you to, airports, railways, government advice, booking pages, keep policies of their own, and those are not part of this one.
What actually gets recorded
Not much, and nothing about your travels unless you type it into a message yourself:
- Your message. Write to me and I receive what you send and whatever is folded into it, your name and email address, say.
- The plumbing of serving a page. Delivering the site securely means my hosting and content delivery network handle the technical basics, such as your IP address and the browser you happen to be using.
- Counts with no name on them. I may keep rough totals of which guides get read the most, purely so I know which ones earn their keep.
The one thing never to send me
Please keep your trip out of your inbox to me. Do not email your travel plans or dates, your card or payment details, or any booking reference or confirmation. I have no reason to hold any of it, I never take a booking or a payment through this site, and ordinary email is not a safe home for that kind of thing. If something like it lands with me anyway, it goes on no record and is deleted the moment I have replied.
Why keep anything at all
Three reasons, and no fourth: to keep the site up and secure, to see which guides genuinely help so I can give them more attention, and to reply to the messages you send me.
Any tracking or ads?
No, neither. I do not sell your details, I run no advertising, and nothing here follows you around the web. What little measuring I do goes through an analytics tool picked for its restraint: it takes as little as it can, masks IP addresses, and does not trail you on to other sites. You can clear or block cookies from your browser whenever you like.
Who else touches it
Only the two services the site cannot run without: a content delivery network and the restrained analytics tool just mentioned. Beyond those, nothing personal about you goes anywhere unless the law leaves me no choice.
How long it is kept
A message stays only until your enquiry, and any sensible follow-up, is dealt with, and then it goes. The pooled counts linger no longer than a general trend needs to stay readable.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may be able to ask to see what I hold, correct it, delete it, limit it, or object to a particular use. To do any of that, write via the Contact page and my reply will follow what the law requires.
Children
The site is written for adult travellers, not children, and I will not knowingly gather anything from someone below the age of valid consent in their own country.
Changes
This policy may shift as the site grows. The “Last updated” date above shows the version in force, and staying with the site after a change is how you accept the new wording. If a passage is unclear, the Contact page is open.
